Two Separate Songs Created From One Recording?
June 28, 1968

The final mixes for “Rainy Day, Dream Away” are prepared are the Record Plant. It is decided that two separate songs can be created from this one recording – resulting in the original track being split into “Rainy Day, Dream Away” and “Still Raining, Still Dreaming.” Hendrix attends the Soul Together – the Martin Luther King Memorial Concert at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. Jimi donates $5,000 to the memorial fund

Performing at the Seattle Center Coliseum

The Experience are set to travel to Hendrix's hometown of Seattle, Washington. Not only will Hendrix be spending time with his family and friends, The Experience are performing at the Seattle Center Coliseum with support from Vanilla Fudge, Eire Apparent, and Soft Machine. 

The performance includes “Spanish Castle Magic,” “Little Wing,” “I Don’t Live Today,” “Red House,” “Purple Haze,” “Fire,” “Foxey Lady,” “Hey Joe,” “Come On (Part One),” “Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” “Wild Thing,” and “Star-Spangled Banner".

"Electric Ladyland" Release Date

The highly anticipated third release by The Jimi Hendrix Experience titled, Electric Ladyland is released in the United States. This landmark two-album collection features: “…And The Gods Made Love,” “Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland),” “Crosstown Traffic,” “Voodoo Chile,” and more!

It’s rumored that Hendrix is renting a house at 2850 Benedict Canyon Drive in Beverly Hills, California, where a simultaneous birthday party for Eric Barrett will be held.
